Located in Westchester New York, the Bujinkan Shinmyoken Dojo (war god school of the life-giving sword) offers instruction in the Japanese martial art of budo taijutsu as passed to us by Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi.
The foundation of our movement is taijutsu: a unified whole-body movement method and philosophy of moving the body in a martial way. Taijutsu uses the movement and flexibility of the body in a variety of ways, giving the ability to adapt to any situation one may encounter.
Training emphasizes taijutsu- natural, whole-body movement, and aims to transmit the philosophy of “being zero” through one-on-one instruction (isshi soden).
Training is supervised by Fred Feddeck, (shidoshi) who has been studying the Bujinkan since 1993.
As martial arts friends our commitment is simple and direct since 2005: meet each week on the martial path to improve our understanding of the movement art of taijutsu, and ourselves in a supportive and non-competitive environment.
Classes are held on Saturday mornings at a local park in Yonkers New York, with additional times for quarterly seminars and workshops throughout the year.
No previous martial arts experience is required.
Traveling and out-of-town Bujinkan students are always welcome to visit a class.
We welcome any questions, comments, feedback, and inquiries which may be directed to us through the contact form below.
